FoxyFy Mail Server

Ultra-fast & Lightweight. Reloadable.

FoxyFy Mail Server (FFM) — Lightweight edge mail

Send and receive mail without dragging in a full groupware stack. FoxyFy Mail is a lean SMTP/IMAP service that fits next to FFS, DNS, and DynDNS — built for servers, containers, and edge nodes where you want control, TLS, and logs, but not 500 MB of bloat.

FFM is designed to replace Postfix and Dovecot in environments where you want mail, not bloat.

FM delivers full SMTP + IMAP in a 7 MB binary — around 100× fewer files and 10× less memory than traditional mail stacks.

DNS wizard & health check

Forget juggling SPF, DKIM and DMARC by hand. FFM’s built-in DNS wizard reads your ffm.conf, generates DKIM keys, and prints ready-to-use DNS records for every mail domain – all with a single CLI command (ffm -dns).

In addition, the DNS health check (ffm -dns-check) runs live lookups against your current DNS and shows exactly what’s configured (A, MX, SPF, DMARC, DKIM) for each domain, highlighting what’s correct and what’s still missing. One command to set things up, one command to verify – no control panel, no guesswork.

Compare FoxyFy

Postfix or Exim plus Dovecot typically land around 18 MB installed and scatter hundreds of files across the system. FFM is a single Linux binary — ~7 MB on disk — with hot-reloadable config.

FFM is radically smaller and lighter than Postfix/Exim + Dovecot, while delivering the same core SMTP and IMAP capabilities.

~50% smaller installation size — 100× fewer files — ~10× lower memory footprint

FoxyFy Mail (FFM) stands out by being smaller, cleaner, and easier to operate than classic Linux mail stacks. Where a Postfix + Dovecot setup installs in the tens of megabytes and scatters hundreds of files across the system, FFM delivers SMTP and IMAP in a single 7 MB Linux binary — the same philosophy as FFS. Despite the minimal footprint, it still gives you a abuse protection, logging and simple configuration, so you can actually run mail without wrestling configs.

Because it’s one process model, FFM uses less memory than multi-daemon mail stacks, leaving more resources for the apps that actually matter. All essentials are built-in from the start: SMTP/SMTPS and IMAPS, TLS-enabled delivery, virtual domains and mailboxes and hot-reloadable configuration. No plugin hunt, no wiring Postfix to Dovecot, no days of tuning — it’s a drop-in mail service that fits right into the FoxyFy stack.
